Hare Krishna Valley was founded in 1987, as a rural community for the members of the Hare Krishna Movement. The beginning years saw the development of a great deal of infrastructure, including residential buildings, a school, ashrama buildings, a bridge, a dairy and a market garden. The goal was to practice a Krishna conscious lifestyle in a peaceful, country environment.
In 2007 some fresh momentum was injected into Hare Krishna Valley. This included a new project manager Keshava and his wife Atulya. They have been further joined by an agriculture manager Manigriva and his wife Tarini Rupa. This new team is providing fresh inspiration to develop Hare Krishna Valley into a role model eco-community for the rest of the world.
