This weekend at Hare Krishna Valley we held our half yearly wood chop, which was well attended by a group of our friends from Melbourne who come down to assist us in this herculean task. In total we yielded around 36 tonnes of wood. In return for their help, our guests received a delicious breakfast and lunch. The lunch included some vegan lasagne prepared by Veda Priya which was greatly appreciated by all.

The week before we held our Bhakti Yoga cooking retreat with Kurma dasa, which attracted 20 participants from around Victoria who were treated to a weekend of preparing and tasting delicious vegetarian cuisine. Many of the guests said they would return in the future for other retreats.

Below is some feedback from one of our cooking retreat participants:

Dear Veda,
Just a short note to let you know how wonderful the weekend retreat with Kurma was. Your powers of organisation are fantastic. I’m quite sure the weekend would not have been such a success without your planning and hard work. I intend to tell anyone who’ll listen about my lovely experience in the hope that they will come along to a retreat some time. I’ll definitely be back to cook with Kurma again. He was marvellous. So knowledgeable, interesting and of course, a fabulous cook!
I haven’t filled in my feedback form as yet, but I’ll get on to it asap and send it back to you.
Once again, my sincere thanks to you and all the team that assisted during the weekend,
Very best wishes,
Paula Speed
